I just finished a build which I topped off with an Eotech XPS2 and a pair of flip up backup sights.

I'd like to mount my old IOR scope to the gun when I feel like using it. I have already bought two cheaper quick release mounts and have learned my lession.

I need a quick release mount and am considering the American Defense duel lever mount (Brownells Stock #:100-003-653WB).

Any Advice on this item???

Also, I am using a pair of 1" long risers to raise the IOR scope up high enough to clear the rear flip down sight.

Thanks for any advise I can get!

I would use one of the mounts that cantilever forward so that you have better eye relief with better ergonomics. Most decent rear BUIS will fit under most optics with these type of QD mounts.

I’m not sure I need the scope mounted forward though. Short eye relief. Is there a reason I may not be aware of?

You see how far back the ocular lens is in the pic below. This is not comfortable, it's awkward and not ergonomic at all. You can see in the pic that the rings are spaced as well as they can be and the optic is mounted as far possible forward. It just sucks.

I used a LaRue mount that extends the optic forward and it made a HUGE difference. As you can see I have plenty of room to adjust. I can move the optic forward or back inside the mount and the mount has plenty of room to move too. It's better to have a cantilever mount whether you think you'll need it or not. You can always mount it forward or back on the rail. Folding BUIS fits under the ocular lens just fine.

My scope has a VERY short eye releif and the first picture is about where I need it. I'm going to try everything out at the range again and make sure before I buy another mount. Will try it out with your idea and see what works.

Thanks!!
