1. For people with a 511 or 551. When you release the battery compartment latch does the battery compartment stay shut when both batteries are in? When I release the latch with one battery or no batteries in the compartment the compartment stays shut, but if I have both batteries in the compartment pops up, when I release the latch. Also, in order to get a proper alignment and close the latch I must hold compartment down with my thumb. I'm wondering if this is all normal or perhaps too much force is being placed on the contacts?

2. What size torx bit do I need to remove the hood screws?

3. It appears that the 512/552's were redesigned circa 2010 to allow for handguard clearance correct? Were there any other changes made at this time to increase battery life or anything?

Thanks

1. Normal
2. Not sure
3. The 511/551 are discontinued at this time, they get 600hrs run time but they do continue to drain when powered off. Eotech advises to remove batteries when not in use.
