| Does anyone have a vortex sparc and if so how do you like it? and would you recommend it? |

I was convinced to buy one by this review: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_277/187104_.html I don't use the 2x magnifier as much as I thought I would (at all, actually). It really narrows the field of view. The only complaint I have, is that the control "pod" on the left and the battery on the right make it (for me) very wide, and it interferes with shooting with both eyes open. I do think it's one heck of a deal, with different height mounts included. I broke the bikini caps pretty quickly, but Vortex sent me a couple of free replacements very quickly. For just a straight red dot, I like my Burris FastFire II a lot. The only complaint I have about it is that the auto-adjust feature is never as bright as I would like. The Leupold Deltapoint auto-adjusts, and is brighter, but it's also twice the price. Burris has addressed my complaint with the FastFire III introduced at SHOT Show 2012 - it has three presets, in addition to the auto adjust. I like the AR-F3 mount for the FastFire as well: ![]() http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-ar-f3-ar-tactical-flat-top-fastfire-mount.html Clean, narrow and simple. The mount also holds a spare battery, a wrench for removing the mount and a torx wrench for removing the sight from the mount. The FastFire III batteries can be changed without removing the optic. Since the bases for the FastFire II are compatible with the FastFire III, I will be upgrading when we get the III. Mark H. |
