I purchased an Aimpoint CompML3 2 MOA used from a member on this site. I have searched and only found one other person with a question regarding this exact problem, unfortunately the pictures have been moved so I am unable to see exactly what his looked like, but from the description it is at least similar.
The issue: Ambiant light from the room appears to be creating a glare visible from the shooters side. This is NOT due to the brightness setting being turned up too high. And I have seen people comment that "it's not that big of a deal"......it is very distracting. Is visible if a variety of lighting conditions. The edge of the "glare" extends from upper left to lower right and fills the lower left quadrant. Appears to be from ambient light because it will fill more or less of the viewing area depending on head position. From everything I have seen, the optic appears to be REAL. Any thoughts/ideas? I am a EOTech guy and this is my first Aimpoint...I really like the idea of an Aimpoint however the glare, if normal, is a deal breaker for me. |

alright guys, if I decide to keep it I'll try getting a kill flash to see if it helps the problem....right now I just want to sell the damn thing because it has frustrated me so much. I got a killflash for my Aimpoint PRO on ebay for less than half the going price of most online sellers: it was military surplus and was brand new in sealed packaging. |

Hang in there and give a killflash a try. I think that will reduce the glare you are talking about. I have noticed the same glare on mine at times and the killflash has taken care of it. |
| Well, I traded around and ended up with a CompM2 with a killflash and while the glare is still there it is nowhere near what it was. I can only see it when head is in a NON-shooting position. In there interim I tried ACOG, just couldn't get used to the BAC - Happy aimpoint user here now! |
