| Has anyone here ever had their ACOG refurbished through Trijicon? My ACOG will not be under warranty so all costs will be out of pocket. My tritium is about 4 years away from its projected expiration and I would like to have the optic repainted/recoated due to a lot of wear and scratches. The fiber-optics tube on top has some pretty significant cracks as well. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

They will make you send it in to give an estimate. Some people have reported $0 others have said $500+ for replacing the Tritium and other assemblies.
If it doesn't meet their illumination specs for the age of the optic it *should* be free but you won't know until you ask. |

Trijicon has a fiber optic tube that doesn't crack as much, but it is slightly less transparent, so the reticle is slightly dimmer. They might put the new tube on your ACOG for no cost, but I would rather keep the brighter reticle than worry about the cracks. That is.. unless the cracks are so bad that you are concerned about the optic failing, but I've never heard of that happening. I would then cerakote the outside finish. |
