I decided to order one of these the other day and it seems like a solid, well made (in USA) mount.

I got the one with the 20 moa cant so I can have more adjustment at longer ranges.

Since I havent gotten around to taking it out to the range yet, I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this mount.

DNZ Freedom Mount

Anyone have positive experiance with it?

I love mine, I just have the straight 556 mount and it works well. Solid and well built.

I bought one from optics planet. Winchester M70 LA. The first one when mounted with the alinement bars, had to be shimmed with aluminum foil to aline the rings correctly. Even though it is a one piece base, the shimming with aluminum foil under the back side of the front and rear section fixed it. But the anodizing was off by a bit. The guns receiver and the Luey scope are nice and black, but the mount was purple. I contacted them over email sending them a pic concerning the color and they replaced it saying they had a bad batch of anodizing. I did have to pay to ship it back to DNZ and wait for a new one. So now I have a second one that is black. But I haven't mounted it yet. Unsure if I'll have to shim this one too. I picked up some 600 grit lapping compound and am going to lap these to check if they are out. I don't want to mess up this brand new Leupold VX-3.

I haven't tried DNZ products on an AR, but I have used a couple of their Game Reaper mounts on 12 gauge slug guns and they hold zero absolutely rock solid and are machined very true to provide a torque free scope mount (I always check with alignment bars when I mount a scope and the DNZs are perfectly straight).  I just wish they made them a bit lower, since their low height are like medium height from other manufacturers.  Height shouldn't be an issue with the Freedom Reapers though since they are set to AR height.

You can really torque down on the ring screws because they're almost an inch long.  They really hold the scope tube.  Not like 5.56 recoils anyway.

Your gun is exactly want I am looking to change my bushmaster 20in HBAR into.  What did you use for paint and stencil for your camo job?  Also what scope are you using?

Sorry didn't mean to hijack!
