I have an Eotech 511 that I have not used in over 4 months, I got new batteries for it, installed them and it turned on, flashed 4 times and turned off, now it does not want to turn on, anybody know what the problem may be

Sounds like new batteries are dead.

Do you have a voltmeter? They could be expired.

BTW, a voltmeter is only a few bucks and is insanely useful for everything. Everyone should have one.

first post nails it.  Batteries are the cheapest thing to try replacing first.

Also.........get some lithium's if you are going to go buy them.  Yes, they are more expensive, but they last longer and do not leak.

If you are using regular alkaline, did they leak or were they slimy when you pulled them out?  The gases can coat, or even corrode, the terminals.  Even if they look good, wipe them off with a que-tip and alcohol.

None of the above works, you may have battery terminal issues.

edit to fix my spelling...
