Hey guys....

Been a few years since I have been on the boards.

I am looking to buy an aimpoint for my LMT as a Christmas gift to myself.  I don't have a lot of time to research so I figured I would ask you folks.

What is a good one to buy for the value?  I don't want to spend over $500.

Is there anything else you would recommend?

The PRO has the same ACET (Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology) as the M3 at a very attractive price

IMHO it's the best value out there, plus it comes with the QRP2 mount that is very solid, however I still replace them with a ADM

PRO with the QRPII mount is probably the best value for a new aimpoint, unless you catch a special like the recent T-1 sale at Primary Arms. The Micros go on sale more than other models, you may want to hold out for the next sale.

Buying used however, opens up a whole world of options. Seems like there's a like-new ML3, M3 or M4 on the EE every day or two at about 80% of the new market price.

Wait for a sale on a micro with mount. I have had a Comp M2 and recently bought the T-1. I liked the M2, but love the T-.

ETA: Didn't notice where you said it had to be quick... I agree with those that said to get the PRO!!

The Aimpoint PRO has to be one of the great deals out there right now. The price is right - I paid $420 for mine, but if you're lucky you can find one under $400.

That pro definitely seems to be a great optic for the price. I'm all about searching around for used ones however as I've snagged an m4 for somewhere near $300 or $350 a while back (when they were still more new) that couldn't have been touched more than Rosie Odonnel. Same with an Eotech 557 with 3x fts mount, got it for somewhere near $300. You do have to watch for fakes with that approach though.... Good luck in your search!

I wouldn't mind trying one of those micro's, they look like good stuff

Also includes the aimpoint QRP II mount, which I was able to sell for $65 shipped so it would come out to under $500 for an brand new aimpoint and a $165 LaRue mount.

The PRO is a real deal modern aimpoint with 3 year battery life, water proof, and has night vision modes.

If I were you I would get teh LaRue set, but I started out with the QRP II and upgraded to the LaRue mount, obviously it comes out to be considerably cheaper getting the set fom LaRue but you can get just the PRO and QRPII  from AZ Armaments, use the coupon in the below picture, and get it for under $400

Personally T1 was pretty smaller than I though, which I didn't like.

Try local gun shop or gun show to see in-person first then decide.

Do you want nightvision? A nightvision ready model will cost you more.

The T-1 models come with a 4 MOA dot whereas a 2 MOA dot can by had with the M2 & M3 series. Everyone has a pre-owned ML3 for sale right now including me.

I just threw down for a Meopta ZD K-Dot so my ML3 has run it's course for me. It's a great optic and sat atop my LMT for quite some time. I never got to run it in any three gun matches or carbine classes. I was too scared and never had the cash. That may change this year. As long as we're shamelessly plugging our wares, mine comes with the LaRue canti-lever mount which positions the optic further up towards the front allowing for a magnifier to be mounted behind, both the black and FDE cover, and a bottle of Dillo dust!

im really not even for sure if i want too sell mine, i havent had it long and have barely got to shoot with it on my rifle,i thought about selling it for a aimpoint micro but i heard the FOV is small and i may not like that. also wouldnt mind having a ta31f acog but dont have the extra cash to dish out on boot. heck may just sell and get a M4S i heard there great and really nice.

I have had the M.....3? I think...maybe m2 i dont remember. It was good..BUT

I recently picked up an H-1 (microdot) with larue 660 for $485 like new.

Absolutely love it.

No reason not to go with a micro.

How about the forgotten C3? It compares favorably with the high-end Aimpoints. The operating temperature range is narrower, but well within reason for most of us. Also it does not have NV capability.
