Sorry if this has been covered but I recieved a brand new Comp M4s today and notice the brightness knob has about an 1/8+ of an inch of play back and forth when off and in between each setting?
Normal?

Yes. That play is there to allow the switch to function when it's encrusted with mud, dust, etc.
