I am looking at the Nikon M223 scope.  I am wanting it for just sort of an "all around" type optic.  Does anybody have any firsthand experience with them?  How durable are they?  Any problems?  Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate it!  9080

I got one recently (the 2-8 Duplex, $270 Botach).  It has nice glass, forgiving eye relief and seems like a quality optic.  The tracking has been good, but I have not had a chance to fool with that much.  Like most Monarchs, it is made in the Phillipines.  No problems so far.  I'm happy with it as a GP scope.  I noticed that the exposed turrets can get moved inadvertantly pretty easily, like when removing the rifle from a gun sock.

Nikon seems to make some of the best quality scopes for low dollars.   I own 2 Prostaffs that have sat on everything from my pellet guns to my .308 FNAR.   No loss of zero so far.  Optics are clear and there is excellent light transmission, even at night.   They can't match my ACOG TA-31f, but they were 1/10th the price.
