Take a look at this. THIS
Everything you need for $250. The mount is included. Good 1-4X optic, which is a similar solution to a red dot / magnifier combination. You could also look at Primary Arms red dot sights and magnifiers, which are the best red dot sights in that price range. But I highly suggest going the route of the link I showed you. It will be more durable and help with long range accuracy compared to the primary arms red dots and magnifiers. It will also be good to go up close on 1x. |
| Another quality low cost optic is the Vortex. The StrikeFire ran very well for me and i personally haven't noticed that much of a difference between the StrikeFire and the Aimpoint PRO that I am running now. My Aimpoint is more robust and has a clearer and brighter dot but a few details are all that separate the two. |

I just spent a bit of time trying to find this link, but I have yet to locate it. Anyways ... there is a somewhat recent thread here where a guy had the front front of his rifle in a rest and the stock was on the shooting table. An instructor walked by and accidentally bumped the stock. the rifle flipped over on its side and the Millet optic broke instantly. The ocular end of the optic hit the table. That doesn't sound like a very durable optic to me.
Hopefully someone can post that link, but it is something to consider. I was considering one of these optics for a 22 rifle of mine, but I reconsidered after seeing that thread. I have a few Vortex StrikeFires and they all have been excellent. The Aimpoint Pro (or any Aimpoint) would be a better investment IMO due to their durability, MUCH longer battery life, proven reliability, much higher specs, etc... |
