Recently got my micro H-1 and immediately noticed that the dot was extremely abnormal looking. Kind of looked awkwardly lopsided, clustered and big like a 65 MOA than a 4. I did some research, rotated the optic and noticed the distortion didn't rotate which means that my eye is whats defective.

I was just wondering if corrective lenses could make the dot look like a perfect 4 MOA or should i just get something different?

Normal WRT dot shape; all of the ones I have ever looked through (various mil issue models) have irregular star shaped dots, especially when you run the brightness at higher settings.

If you are saying the dot is basically filling the tube, I don't know what to tell you about that.

Try lowering brightness to lowest tolerable level.

WRT? Im still pretty new to the forum and learning all the acronyms.

I usually run it on 7 or 8 intensity. Not too bright. The dot is still splotchy.

With Regard To

I have an astigmatism too, and also get the blob, or multi-blob for a dot through Aimpoints.

That said, focusing on the target instead of the dot itself, helps crispen-up the dot.

ETA:  Congrats on the H1.  The micros are great.  Learn to use it correctly (despite the vision issue) focus on the target instead of the dot and the crisp red circle will be superimposed over the target and you'll come to appreciate the H1.

Sorry:  With Respect To...not common outside of certain circles.

Your next eye exam should be with a doc that is familiar with astigmatism ...I took my aimpoint micro into the exam with me and drew a pic for the doc of what
the dot looked like to me....he looked through it and drew a pic of what it looked like to him...the difference was quite interesting.

Both of us have astigmatism......he was able to correct my prescription quit a bit but not to the point where I see a perfectly round dot...but close enough for what
I want the optic to do for me....

I have micros on quite a few other rifles and added an ACOG TA44SG which also helps out quite a bit...none of these reticles are perfect (for my eyes) but
much better so with my new script than previous script...

Without glasses even the circle dot of the ACOG is somewhat distorted...though useable in CQB scenarios

It is essential to have an eye doc that understands the problem and then can address it.

My wife has no astigmatism.....its always good to have someone look through your optic that can tell you what it is suppose to look like

Thanks for the feedback. I've had friends look through the optic and see a perfect 4 moa dot so im pretty confident its my eye. I've always known that my dominant eye is weaker than the other and i've never considered throwing money at the issue until now. Im still trying to determine if i wanna invest in a script to improve my accuracy after investing thousands already into gear. Choices choices.
