Have any of you had experience with the 5.56 version of the Surefire Muzzle Brake? I recently ordered a weapon whose primary use will be for range and night hog hunting. I believe it would help the former but am concerned for the effect on the hog hunting. Any thoughts on it's detriment at night?

Since a muzzle brake directs some of the muzzle blast backwards to counteract the recoil, I would think that you will get an enhance muzzle flash than say compared to a flash hider which is designed to reduce muzzle flash. That might affect your night vision if you are doing night hog hunting.

Don't have firsthand experience, just working out the logic of the situation and would also like to hear from someone who has done it firsthand.

It's the best muzzle brake I've ever used but it is a brake so flash and concussion is increased as the cost of the muzzle barely moving (if at all) and faster follow up shots.

Thanks Hellbound. I know the noise is enhanced too. I'm okay with that just not wanting to be blinded at night. I mat wait to mount until I get a suppressor.  Still interested in thoughts about its night functionality.
