I have been doing some comparison shopping between the Vortex magnifier and the Aimpoint and I had a question. The aimpoint claims full FOV AT 60-65mm eye relief which is around 2.5'' while the vortex simply says 50mm which is ~2''. At 2'' I assume you get full FOV with the vortex? Basically I want a magnifier for coyote hunting in case I need to take a shot that is over 100 yards or so. I will probably be getting the Aimpoint twist mount so I can completely remove the thing when I am doing a class or doing a competitive shoot. Money is an issue so I either have to get a shady Aimpoint mag from Botach or a vortex from wherever.

From what I have gathered the only significant difference between the two is that the aimpoint is .5'' shorter and has better eye relief. I have extremely limited experience with the magnifiers, but the comp m4/aimpoint magnifier I tried once was pretty nice.

I considered a 1-4x scope for this rifle for coyotes, but to get a nice illuminated 1-4x I will be spending $500+. I already have two aimpoints so I could get into the vortex setup for around 180$ with the mount. Plus I won't have a cluttered reticle like 90% of scopes I see. If I get a scope that isn't illuminated I think I will get the Nikon African. I really liked the m223 I had, but the turrets SUCKED so I sent it back.
