I recently purchased an XPS3 EOTech, and I am looking at getting a magnifier. I really like the way the LaRue Tactical QD Pivot Mount operates, however I have read that in order for it to align properly I need to get the 'S" (short) version, which is no longer made. Will the current model raise the magnifier too high? If so, where can I find the S version?

Are you talking about the Aimpoint magnifier? I have an EXPS 2-0 with an Aimpoint 3x in the LaRue tall flip mount (LT649, also no longer made but updated) and it lines up perfectly.
You would need a riser for your XPS to work with the tall mount, which LaRue makes. I saw recently a short LaRue magnifier mount in the EE––take a look. Or, you could get the EOTech G23 magnifier which has a removable riser but not as nice a mount. ETA: I proposed the Aimpoint magnifier because, as I understand it, LaRue doesn't make a mount for the G23 yet. I could be wrong, though (it wouldn't be the first time). |

For XPS models, you'll need to pair it with an a magnifier pivot mount that offers absolute cowitness like the LT649(S), EOTech G23 (which comes with both mounts) or the ADM pivot mount like this one:

Hey all, just thought I would provide an update, I called LaRue this morning and they said they still offer the short version, just not online. They also told me it had been ''redesigned'' so we'll see what that means, Its supposed to ship out tuesday, when it gets here I will post pics, thanks for the help!

The LaRue mount blows away the ARMS/Samson version in my opinion. I haven't looked through a G23 but I can't really see how the Aimpoint glass could be clearer. My understanding is the Aimpoint 3x has a more generous eye relief than the EOTech. |
