Hey guys, I usually shoot at 100 yds, and was thinking about buying a scope, but I don't know which ones are good or not.
I came across Valhallaarmory and was wondering what your opinions on this site were? I really can't see myself paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a scope, so I started looking at these: Link Link 2 Link 3 So..are these scopes reliable? Accurate? Or you could discuss which other scopes I should get? I really never used optics before, but I want to improve my shooting. Also, are scope mounts necessary? Any help is appreciated guys, thanks! |

Burris has a 3x prism optic with etched reticle and illumination. They run approx $319 but you can sometimes find them for approx $250. When it is not illuminated the reticle will be black. Etched meaning that the reticle is not made of paper or wire ... it is literally a rock solid, permanent reticle etched into the glass itself.
http://www.burrisoptics.com/ar332.html 99.999% of the time those cheap china optics are just junk. For that reason I personally will not even consider buying a Primary Arms brand name optic. I've went through one after another before I finally learned to buy quality. Once you buy quality you will know the difference when you see, feel and use it. I used to have a hell of a time hitting what I aim at. I finally realized that my optics were not holding zero. I'd also make adjustments to the scopes and they would not return to zero when I moved the adjustments back. This 'may' not sound like a big deal when you're shopping around trying to save money, but when you're out shooting and can't hit shit ... it's everything. |

check out the sightron 3x9 mil-dot . sightron makes some excellent scopes and would fell much better using a sightron or bushnell 3200 than a piece of rebadged ncstar crap that wasin the original post.

Yeah I'm always hearing about cheap scopes and to stay away from them.
Thanks Jwb, seems like something I would buy if it's quality, the price is sure right. I'm still new to scopes so I need to know a few things, what exactly does 3x9 mean? And will I need a scope mount, and what type for that matter? Are they easy to install? |
