Gear Sector Offset Scout $50

OR

Larue offset mount $100

When compared to each other, is the Larue really worth $100? Don't get me wrong, imho, they make the BEST mounts... but how does the gear sector compare?
Thanks

If you value the QD ability then yes it is worth the extra cash.

If you intend on installing the light permanently with absolutely no intention of removing it without tools then you do not 'need' a QD mount.

If you are not sure if you will ever want to remove the light and put it back on without tools then you could go QD and that never hurts. I have NEVER regretted purchasing anything that is QD.

I look at it this way ... I may want to remove the light easily and do whatever I want with it. I might want to put it on a different weapon. I might want to take it and use it somewhere. The QD mount gives you more versatility.

I tried a quick search to see if anyone else makes a decent QD mount for the Scout. I checked ADM and they have one, but it is NOT an off set mount. I checked Brobo's website and they do not appear to make any mounts for lights. I checked out GG&G and they don't appear to make one either.

It looks like LaRue is the only place that makes one.

I checked ARMS website because I thought they made one, but I can't find it. I'd buy LaRue before I'd buy an ARMS mount anyway.
