Looking to purchase one of these. Have done my research on specs of each. Would be applied to my only carbine rifle so more likely first and last optic for a while. Purposes HD and general plinking.
If Comp M3 was purchased I'd go w/ 2 MOA. I really am looking for peoples experience with both. Do people prefer the T-1 because of size or what? Comp M3 is twice the length. Do like the flip up covers to protect. Anyways, what do people like/dislike about either? Thanks. |

I've owned/used both. If weight and/or rail space are not an issue then the M3 provides greater FOV through the optic, 2moa/4moa reticles plus accessories like the killflash and flipups.
If weight and/or rail space *is* an issue then the T-1 provides legendary Aimpoint ruggedness/reliability/battery life in a smaller/lighter package but at the cost of fewer accessories, a 3.4moa reticle and reduced FOV through the 20mm tube (if that's important to you). I prefer the Micros myself but YMMV. HTH... Tomac |

I've got an R1 and a 2MOA M3. For the purposes you've identified I'd go with the Micro. I really didn't think I'd like a Micro. I couldn't see what all the Micro hoopla was about. I "had" to get one when Midway was blowing them out for $300. I must say, I'm impressed. Don't get me wrong, the M3 is a world class optic.
Dot size? 2 MOA is nicer for small targets and would be a tick better for "plinking", but I much prefer 4 MOA for HD. Sam |

Weight does not concern me. Since it will be the last thing I add to rifle, I can spare a few ounces if needed One of my thoughts was the FOV through the optic. But, itseems its a non issue to those that have used both.
Saw the PRO. Don't know much about it, will definitely check it out. Thanks for making my choice more difficult! |

PRO = M3, except the M3 has 5 years of battery life, teh PRO only has 3. Also for $400 shipped the PRO comes with a QD mount. |

Only seeing LaRue packages offer PRO w/ QD mount but its $505. Where you seeing offered at $400? Wouldn't mind saving a couple hundred bucks over T-1 or M3. Got my PRO from azarmament for $397 shipped. Theres a coupon code floating around that took off a little over $20 from the total. Great deal in my book |

OK Im not that stupid..lol...I mean how do I loosen the clamp to put it on the rail? The giant knob spins. It is directly attached to the clamp It has a feature so that you cannot over tighten it either. Its actually quicker and easier (less effort required) then a LaRue QD lever. (I like posting pictures, and that seemed to be a good opportunity) |
Oh shit....LMFAO....I figured it out....and yes apparent I am a moron....
When I tried to turn it counter clockwise the teeth were moving slightly and it wouldnt turn. I didnt want to force it....apparently it was pretty sticky from the factory so I gave it a harder twist and it released..... |
| I have a ML3 2moa and a R-1 Micro. I didn't think I would like the micro, but it was on sale and was for my AK. Man I love that little bastard. It is a very sweet little red dot and I have been thinking about doing some switching around so I can put it on my AR and move the ml3 to my AK74. |
