My 18" SPR has been completed for a while, but in need of a scope capable of 500-600yd shots.  I want it to be mil/mil with a ranging reticle.  Illuminated is not mandatory but would be preferred for some low light shooting.  30mm tube a must.  Plinking steel, punching paper, and hog / coyote hunting are going to be the uses.  Here are the 3 candidates I am trying to decide between:

Vortex PST 2.5-10x40 SFP EBR-1 ($599.00)

IOR 2.5-10x42 FFP MP-8 ($1174.95)

Nightforce 2.5-10x32 SFP NP-R2 ($1291 +)

I'm not sure I am sold on FFP scopes but it does have some appeal.  I would like to cut my teeth at ranging, I have 1000 yards at my disposal.  The Nightforce is my third choice only because of the smaller objective lens and adding mil rad/zero stop turrets adds $258.00, they have a great reputation.  The IOR is a bit cheaper w/ FFP and I have heard the glass is as good but I guess some past quality issues have me second guessing.  The Vortex is very affordable (and on backorder at the moment), I like the reticle and even with SFP it is marked at 10, 5, 2.5 to help with ranging.  I am just not sure if the glass will be close to the other two.  Also, how does the illumination between the three compare?

IOR has fantastic customer service.

Reticle cant on a scope that I bought here used (and rattle can painted)?  They had me send it in and sent back a BRAND SPANKING NEW OPTIC!

I have a Leupold Mark 4 LRT (2.8 - 10 x 40) on mine.  It uses a tactical milling reticle which is fairly easy to use for ranging once you get used to it.  I got mine new for $950 and used a LaRue LT-104 to mount it.

The reviews on the PST have been decent, with the biggest negatives directed at the glass quality. I think the IOR would be a good choice, but YMMV.

I really like the PST's and Nightforce's are well-built...

I think you're misunderstanding the use of a 5.56. 1000 yards...?

First sentence in op says I will use it up to 600yards.  I have at my disposal 1000 yards with which to set up randon targets at different distances in order to utilize the reticle.

For 1000 yards i have my 7mm RM
