I am looking for carry handle mounted scopes. Things like the old Colt hakko 4x20 scopes.
What are the best current production carry handle mounted scopes? How do they compare to the hakko? Is there anything like the hakko but with a little bit larger field of view? I am only interested in scopes with BDCs. |

Quoted:
Height over bore is very high at 3.75-4". You're greatly limiting your optics options with a carry handle requirement. I’ll have to measure the height of my Eurolux 4x22 carry handle scope; it’s basically a colt carry handle scope knock off. I’m going to get another upper and I’m not averse to a flattop, I’m just attracted to the carry handle because It’s basically a free riser and back up rear sight. |

Wow! That looks nice and low and compact. Can you give us the specs on it? |

Wow! That looks nice and low and compact. Can you give us the specs on it? It's a TA47-4, translated that's a compact ACOG, 2x20, with an amber crosshair reticle. It comes with the hardware to mount to a carry handle. You can still use the iron sights, and it's very light. |

If you wanted a 4X on the carry handle, Ta01 is the best way to go. And it is not that high - you will still have some cheek weld, it will not be a chin weld such if you mounted a scope with rings on a carry handle base (mount).
I am pretty old, so I'm used to mounting optics on top of carry handles (never had a flat top until about 2008 or so) - I got my first Colt 6920 right after what's his name got elected. Make sure you know your POI for closer ranges, though. |
