I am thinking of putting a scope on my M&P15 so that I can use it for hunting.  What would a good scope be for around $300-400? As I mentioned I will be using it for hunting varmints, hog, and possibly deer for distances out to 200 yards or so.  What are your thoughts about using the M&P as a hunting rifle?-no major changes from the shelf...

Depends on the State, some states won't let you hunt with .223

SWFA has a price match on the Nikon m223 2-8 BDC with mount in the $300-400 range.

DOA 600 is for centerfire rifle. DOA 250 Is muzzleloading/shotgun.

there quality with the Trophy series sucks!

have you ever seen an elevation turret numbers get smaller with come up's?

customer service is very nice, sadly they have no clue. Honestly the women there probably have NO FUCKIN idea what a rifle scope looks like!

let alone a turret knob, markings, ect, ect.

they are very polite just have not narry a clue! I suspect engineering is a close 2!

Bushnell DOES NOT own any manufacturing plant. They simply let out a bid to optical manufacturers!

Actually there could be an ar15.com scope or whomper stomper mil-dot series. optical engineer +$$$$$$$$$= bid= scope

wich I guess junior engineers at bushnell dropped the fuckin ball on the turrets on the trophy DOA 600? Possibly a family member in need of a job? or they are dumber than dried mud on a hog's ass?

I've always said when I retire I should do part time work for a rifle scope manufacturer.

give me that old Nikon Monarch/Primos. 3-9x40 in a  Mil Dot reticle with 1/2 mil straight line intercections between dots. multiple errector tube turret set up. mil-mil. and mil / moa.

I'll show you how to sell a $180.00 piece of glass to hunters and paper punchers

That new Hawke Varmint model went this route. They just don't have that strong market presence as Nikon

proper number markings on elevation turret

by the way. the above DOA 600 3-9 Trophy was the 3rd. scope they sent after sending in the 1st with improper turret markings!

After sending the NEW 2nd DOA Trophy back with a very nice letter telling them they might want to bring this to an engineers attention before further production was screwed. They sent me the up graded scope above in the pic!

XLT Trophy series. only diff. is XLT's have BC Flip up lense covers. Sadly the turrets were still mis marked

A mans gotta know when he's beat and just banging his head against the wall
