I'm sure this has been here before but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I finally got my Larue mount and now I need a reliable BUIS. I bought the LT-135 so I don't care about about low profile. I think I've got it narrowed down to: Troy, YHM, MI, Magpul, ARMS but want to hear from AR15 about which one I should get. I am concerned with durability and accuracy!!
I mainly want them to switch up my shooting style and for BUIS when SHTF.
ETA: If you have others that I haven't mentioned then please feel free to mention them...maybe I have overlooked something.

Just buy Troys and never look back. Aimsurplus has the set for about $180.00. You won't regret it.

For a folding rear, I have the MAD Ranging BUIS, from GG&G.

if you want the best, then get the Troy.

I run the MBUS rear on both of ARs due to the price.  I figure one day i'll upgrade up, but for now they work great.  I can shoot the heart out of target at 50 yards using the MBUS, so I know that if my ACOG goes down, I will still be able to rock n roll.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Hard to justify the Troy price for a paper shooter. If my primarys batteries die or I drop the gun off the ol' Fords tailgate I can use MBUS untill I get home to fix the problem.

Now if for a real working gun on deployment or for LE,  Troy all the way.

I have MI sights on mine.  No issues yet with durability.  Troy's are nice, but I got a great LEO price on my MI's, so I've never looked back.

This. Have the MBUS on the gun now. But will get a Troy when I can afford.

Are the Troy's strong enough to use as a primary? or just backup?

I have the Magpul BUS gen 1 on my SIg516 and they worked out pretty well during my agency rifle course. I used the rear on my last rifel with a fixed front sight and it held up during that course as well. Accuracy seems to be just fine.

With that said, i keep looking at a set of Troy HK style sights. Troy's seem to be gold standard for BUS.

Plenty strong. If irons are going to be your primary sights you could also go with a fixed base sight.

The weak link in most flip ups is the mechanism that allows it to do just that. Either Troy is good though.
