This looks good, and keeps the finish away from the rubber covered buttons. Organic solvents and rubber do not mix well. Also, it saves a ton of masking work that would be very difficult to get perfect, and I don't have to worry about customers assuming I damaged their EOTech of it stops working someday. (I was once suspected of disassembling a Ziess scope when the customer had a gunsmith mount it after I finished it, and the elevation could not be adjusted. It turned out the rings were torqued down way to tight.) I also hit the hood screws, to prevent rust. |
