I have read on the net where people like the turkey plex redical for fast target engagement as well as using the lower mark for distance hold point.
With that said does anyone use the Nikon 1-4.5x Monarch on their AR? I'm still between a reddot (vortex strikeforce/spac) or a scope. The scope mount is more than a reddot and if it scope fails you cannot flip up the rear sight which is a draw back. |

I have the Nikon M-223 1-4x20 on an AR and like it very much.
Honestly, to me at 1X it feels as fast as my Aimpoint and at 4X every steel plate is dead. Bill Quoted:

Very interesting........I was thinking a 20mm say vs a 30mm or so would hinder range of view at closer ranges.....you feel the scope would be ok for home use with a weapons like as well?
Kinda looking for an all around setup but most likely will not use AR for home defense in my small house the Glock 19 serves well as well as my LCP. Quoted:

i am hearing good things about the nikon also.. but i am not sold no 1" diameter.. if it was 30mm.. leaning toward tac30 The ocular lens (the one closest to you eye is the one that detirmines your field of view, not he 20mm objective. It has much much better field of view than my Aimpoint. The 1" tube doesn't affect much of anything on this scope, not sure why people get so hung up on a 30mm. 30mm DOES NOT ALLOW ANY MORE LIGHT TO TRANSMIT (Sorry to All Cap that). Bill |
