I was wondering if I could get some help in a decision on a ACOG sight.  I am tossing the idea of purchasing a ACOG TA-31 or TA01nsn, that will be put on a LMT CQP MRP 5.56 rifle, I will also be interchanging it with my 6.8 conversion that I have with it.  I was looking for a magnified scope that is versitile for the 5.56 and 6.8.  And by all means if somebody has a better suggestions I am all ears.  Thanks to everybody that replies.

I would go with the ta31 since it is dual illumination. I have a ta31f and love it , but some people think the eye relief is to short . either way its alot of money and I would suggest looking through as many as possible to find the best fit for you .

TA31 series for sure.  I have a TA01NSN from 2000, I haven't used it since I got my TA31 (three of them now).  If you like the cross hair reticle of the TA01 series AND the fiber optics lit reticle, TA31DOC or TA31ECOS are the way to go.

Or just the TA31F.

the TA31 is more dynamic due to the BAC system: you can aim with both eyes open like a red dot sight. the reticle is illuminated day and night.
the TA01nsn instead works like a regular scope. it's a bit slower to use since you have to aim wih only one eye open. the reticle is black during the day and glows at night only.

also check Trijicon' website and take a look and the adjustments...some are 1/3 click/in at 100yds...some are 1/2 click/in

You plan on using one optic on two different uppers?

I'd suggest two different optics so you don't have re-zero every time you shoot.

I shoot my TA01 with both eyes open almost all the time. The concept of an illuminated reticle makes it easier/faster, but the BAC concept is not limited to fiber optic models. Trijicon uses the term "BAC" to sell people on the concept; the gun world loves acronyms. It's simply the concept of aiming with both eyes open, a concept which goes back to the Armson OEG. I'll add that the red tritium in my TA01 begins to glow in a dimly lit room; it does not need complete darkness to become visible to the eye. I'm not a fan of the TA01 NSN because that amber tritium is just way too dim.

I had a TA01ECOS and I have a TA31ECOS and TA31RCOA4. I like the TA31ECOS the best. I ended up trading the TA01ECOS toward  another scope. I kind of regret it but it was my least favorite out of my three ACOG's.

I'll go against the grain and say neither the 31 or 01.  Check out a TA11.  You'll be glad you did.

^^THIS^^

Absolutely +1

The 01 isn't good for much at all and the 31 has horrible eye relief.
