Hello all... long-time lurker, first post.
I have a late 80's Bushy carbine with the fixed carry handle upper. I want to mount a red-dot on the carry handle, perhaps the Burris or Vortex but I am concerned that using the carry handle scope rail adapter will put the scope too high above the bore axis. Does anyone have a build like that and/or know of any lower-profile options for mounting? I'm trying to avoid having to buy a flat-top upper for this rifle, but may have to... wanted to ask here first. Thanks in advance... tom158 |

It's really a matter of what you're comfortable with; red dots on the carry handle work fine for me: http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s95/MMcfpd/Carry_handle_RDS.jpg Ditto. I hate those "gooseneck" things. You can properly zero a red dot on a carry handle mount. In fact, us old timers still remember when ALL optics for ARs were mounted on the carry handle. |
