| Real quick. Wife bought me an AR for Christmas and an Aimpoint Comp ML2 to go with it. Now I never used optics on my rifles before so I am a little new to it. I put the included battery in to the Aimpoint but I get no dot. It is in there correct but I get nothing. Could I have a spent battery? Possible that I got one of the few messed up Aimpoints out of the box? All ordered from Del-Ton so I am sure they will make it right if it turns out to be the optic. Just wondering if I am missing some critical step here. Yes, I followed all the directions despite being 1) A man 2) A Marine and 3) An aerospace engineer! Any advice out there in optics land? |

Check battery.
Check how you inserted it. The first five or six "clicks" are for night vision and you won't see a dot without night vision goggle. Turn it up past that. If you have done all above you can: (1) Cry like a baby. (2) Then return it. I'd do both. Sorry to hear of the trouble. Bummer. Hang in there. |
| Yeah, I checked the battery with the old stand by method of touching it to the tounge. Has a charge. I tried to turn it up all the way and had no dot at all. I will run over to Rainier Arms since they are right around the corner and grab a battery. If it doesn't work I will initiate the Tear Sequence and return the optic. Damn, I hope it is just the battery! Thanks for the fast reply. |
| I have something to add.......I could give a crap less about his optic or rifle!!!!!!! I demand to know if SHE has a sister!!!!!! Seriously though, "new" batteries are something that I have actually had happen. It would be really simple for you to only have to deal with that. Good luck and merry Christmas. 9080 |

Ok, it seems to have been the battery after all. Now just waiting on my rifle to arrive from Del-Ton and I need a good mount for this optic. What LaRue mount do you guys recommend for absolute cowitness? None of Larue's mounts will absolute cowitness with standard ar sights. They are made for lower 1/3 cowitness. The RAS height is to low. |
| I decided to go with the LaRue mount and just do the lower 1/3 cowitness. I'm going to use MBUS since most of my shooting will be with the aimpoint. My wife bought some for me when we stopped over at Rainier Arms this weekend. The only problem with that was that now she is looking at picking up a rifle herself and she seems to have expensive tastes! |

Hey now, it was Christmas morning and I didn't feel like walking 15 feet to the closet to dig out the voltmeter! Not only does the tounge act as a voltmeter but a chemical detector too. That strange puddle under the car? *Taste* Hmm, kinda tastes like antifreeze... Who needs a mass spectrometer? |
