I recently purchased a used Trijicon Acog. In low light the crosshairs do not appear to illuminate. I was under the impression that all acogs were tritium, or is this not the case? This acog has no markings except Jn3:18 I belive.

is it real? where did you get it from?

Yes, it is real. A friend of mine was issued it while on SWAT. It was used when he got it. He said he couldnt remember if it was ever illuminated.

It needs light to illuminate the fiber optics, indoors it is dim. If you want an indoor optic get a Aimpoint or an Eotech with a battery.

Not all ACOG's have the fiber optic tube for daylight illumination. They all use Tritium for illumination in low light.
No marking on it except Jn3:18 makes me wonder what you have.
Pictures would solve this the easy way.
Here's my TA01 ACOG, notice the markings on it. I know of no ACOG that matches your description. Does yours have a fiber optic tube on top?
Old pic on LMT, ARMS mount broke, LaRue in use now.

No markings at all accept John 3:18?  Correct me if I’m wrong but I was under the impression that the bible verses had to do with light.  I don’t see how John 3:18 has anything to do with light.

John 8 12 I believe is the correct verse, as seen in the pics of the real ACOG, right after SN# But I have been known to be wrong :P

The verse varies by model.

It's at the end of the Model Number, not the Serial Number. The Serial Number is not visible in the pics above.

You were correct with the last sentence though.

on the left side the model number says: ACOG4x32JN8:12 then it says made in the usa.

Low light doesn't really show the tritium illumination well.

NO LIGHT is where it becomes apparent.

Mere dusky light doesn't show the fiber or the tritium very well.

Even in no light the crosshair is not visible.

I have been trying to help you, i asked you a few questions so that I can help that you ignored. I will try one more time.

Are you saying that this is all that it says, no other markings???
I'm not positive you have a real one by your description.  First you said it only had the verse, then it had more. I'm confused.
Post pictures so we can see what you have.
Or go to the Trijicon website and figure out which ACOG you have, and that it is a real one.

Does it have a serial number?
Call Trijicon, give them the serial number. They can tell you when it was made.
The tritium can be replaced.

What is Tritium?
   Tritium
is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. It is an odorless, tasteless,
colorless gas that reacts with the human body in the same manner as
natural hydrogen.   Beta rays from the tritium hit phosphors to create
the glow you see.  Tritium has a half-life of 12.5 years, which means
that in that time the lamp will be half as bright as it originally was.
