I know it probably has been asked a few 1000 times, but I can't find it( the answer), and your opinions are valued by me.. So here's my question: What model Eotech should I get for my AR15. I will not be shooting past 100 yds, I want my BUIS and front sight to line up in the center of the Eotech ( and not need to add any special mount), The front sight on my rifle  is a standard fixed sight. Can be night vision compatible or not. Battery type, you tell me what's best?
Thanks,
BravoCharlie

A 512 would IMO be your best bet. Cheap, takes AA's(easy to find), will cowitness with your sights.  No NV capability though

Anything else on your rifle battery operated? If so, I'd choose an eotech that matches(if it's aa's(512)or cr123's(516))

You have plenty of options so its probably best to determine what your intended use will be.  Is this a recreational rifle, patrol carbine, etc..  The majority of our officers are running either 517's or 516's.  Both have raised bases for a lower 1/3 co-witness.  The 517 uses (2) AA batteries and the 516 uses (2) 123 lithium batteries.  The XPS line is also very nice, uses less rail space, weighs less, but has a little less run time due to the (1) 123 battery vs (2) battery models.
