I have an opportunity to buy a 2.5-10x24 for a good price and just got the serial # last night. After calling it appears they are not open on Friday and this deal expires on Sunday. Can anyone help me find out the options that were on this scope and make sure it is real?
I found it at a price I can afford and don't think I will ever find one again for the $$. Serial #E00737 Thanks a bunch!! ETA: Here are the specs I believe it has: 2.5-10x24 FC-2 reticle .25 MOA Zero Stop turrets Here is a picture of it:

Looks legit to me from the picture + I have never heard of a fake/clone Nightforce being made. However, if you want to cover yourself ask the seller if he can hold out until Monday? Then call Nightforce and confirm the authenticity of the scope...if the price is really good though - I would jump on it.

Unless this person has the first rip-off of an NXS 2.5-10x24 - based on the pictures, I see no reason to believe that it isn't real. To our knowledge, nobody has cloned an NXS yet.
Nightforce works Monday-Thursday and all but occasionally production is closed on Fridays. |
| Many companies who are having trouble with fakes have notices on their web site on how to spot them. Check the Nightforce web site for such warnings. If there are fakes coming in I would think NF would have warnings up like other optic companies. If there are not any warnings you can make the assumption that there are no fakes coming in or at least not enough to warrant a warning. And I would assume that if even one fake was brought to their attention they would post warnings about them. |

A more realistic test would be to use it as an ASP on a couple of local crackheads, throw it into a swimming pool for a few hours, dry it off in a freezer, crank the W&E turrets a few revolutions in either direction, and then re-mount it to shoot for groups at a few hundred meters in a dusty desert.
