| I have a flat top AR with a Daniel Defense fixed rear sight. I want to put a red dot sight on my rifle, and I have pretty much settled on Vortex. I hear good things about Primary Arms, too. I am not spending $500 or $600 on an Eotech or an Aimpoint, and an ACOG is totally out of the question. I like the looks of the Strikeforce, but the SCAR is the latest and greatest from Vortex. Does the SCAR come with a mount that will work with my DD fixed sight, or will I have to buy another mount for it? Anyone prefer the Strikeforce over the SCAr? Why or why not? |

SCAR or do you mean SPARC? The SPARC comes with a mount and shims so you can set your height. |

Stikefire is 2MOA, sparc is 4MOA. Smaller dot is best for precision, larger is best for speed. How do you plan on shooting?
Strikefire is absolute cowitness thru DD1.5A sights. Sparc is either absolute or lower 1/3rd. I prefer absolute with fixed rears. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Yes. I meant SPARC and Striikefire. I just want a solid red dot to mount on my AR. I don't compete or anything. I must admit that I prefer the look of the longer Strikefire. Then get the Strikefire. I've got a SPARC, and the only issue I've had with it is the battery that came in the unit crapped out in about 2 weeks. Luckily, Vortex includes a second battery. |

Quoted: My battery is still running good, after a month of use, only problem I had was the bikini covers giving out yesterday at the range, no biggie. It has been getting knocked around a lot in my gun-trunk safe. Quoted: Yes. I meant SPARC and Striikefire. I just want a solid red dot to mount on my AR. I don't compete or anything.
