What color did you dye your furniture?  It looks like it is orange and brown mixed.  A very SouthWestern color scheme.  Very unique.

I have two M4S optics and really like them.  They are good to go and very rugged.  They do weigh more than a T-1/H-1 Aimpoint, but the battery life is amazing.

it's magpul FDE furniture with cocoa brown RIT dye.

i just recently sold my eotech 512 for the M4S pictured and couldn't be happier with it. it's about the same weight as the 512 so i don't really notice a difference there, but like CovertChannels mentioned, the battery life is unbeatable.

Why do you guys have it on a mount as opposed to just on the rail?

To maintain proper and consistent cheek weld.

Yeah, but doesn't the mount that come with it provide the same elevation off the rail?   The "quick release" is a knob as opposed to a lever, but it still works fine.  I am just wondering what the advantage is of buying an aftermarket mount.

PS... i have the m4s mounted on a colt MT6400c.

I have no good excuse other than I bought mine with the LaRue mount from a member here

I also use the std tall mount that the M4s comes with.  Mine is on a Colt A3 Tactical and works great.  Battery life is ridiculous as long as you don't have it turned up too bright.  Even with it cranked up mine lasted about 8 months being left on 24/7.

The stock mount didn't fit in front of my 3x magnifier with the larue flip to side mount.

I thought that the Aimpoints didn't come with any type of mount?  From what I saw, the Aimpoint in the group buy came without a mount, which is necessary to attach it to your rifle.  Or did I miss it?

The Aimpoint mount does not feature returnable zero after you take the sight off & re-install it like the Larue mount does.

I would on a MRP Or like my Old A1 carbine I ran back in 2001

But thats because I like the aimpoint over delta ring.  I  get a Tad better view, compared to  my M4 flat top`s  with / eotech/aimpoint

I have had my M4s on setting 6 for  a year and a half and its still going strong.  When i go to the outdoor range I turn it up according to lighting conditions but it is on my MRP which is my home defense rifle and it stays on all the time.
