| Okay. How big of a deal is it to remove the FSB and replace it with a gas block in order to use a folding front sight? |

It's certainly doable, although I don't know what you consider a big deal.
The pitfalls people most often encounter are 1.) difficulty in knocking out the taper pins that secure the standard fixed FSB and 2.) aligning the gas block properly with the gas port on the barrel. Knocking the pins out can usually be done if you 1.) knock them out from the correct side (left for most factory installations), 2.) arrange to do your pounding so that you get a good coupling with the pins (a punch with a concave end, a Brownells FSB block and a concrete floor will help) and 3.) use a penetrating oil such as Kroil or PB Blaster. Aligning the gas block with the gas port has been an eyeball thing for me. |
