Hey guys,  I'm looking for input on a decent scope for my A2.  I tried the NcStar MkIII 3-9x42.  All I can say is NFG.  The scope itself looket great.  Super clear.  The quick release mount was crappy.  It rocked up & down, so, sent back to Amazon.
Has anyone heard of these Firefield scopes that the Sportsmans Guide is selling?  It's an ACOG style scope with a laser on the side for $99.
Any suggestions???  I'm just looking for a KISS rifle.  After society collapses it will be hard to find batteries.  Thanx.......

I played this game for awhile also back in the day... Unfortunately, the keyword is "budget".  Your best bet is to get a rail that fits into your carry handle screw hole, and mount a decent Burris.  I've got one on my Mini-14 and another on my 10/22.  No problems out of either.  I've got a Nikon that is really, really nice for under 300 bucks.

I played the NC-Star game myself back in the day.  Your best bet is to save up your money a little longer and get something good.  The Colt 4x scope is good, albeit probably pricey if you can find it.  I would avoid the Sportsmans Guide scope like the plague though.

Sportsmansguide chinese junk is what you are going to bet your life on in the post apocalyptic rubble?  They fall apart at the range.

The money would be better spent on a 10/22 with tech sights and .22lr ammo to hone your skills and take small game.

Mini acog is what you need, but it's not budget

Primary Arms has plenty of options for the budget consumer. Not everyone can afford a $1k Acog, they have the answer. If you are looking for a scope, I just picked up a Hawke Optics scope from eabco, and its pretty damn clear for a $59 scope (clearance).
