Lets start off with some background info. I've got a YHM Smoothie upper that has an integrated front sight gas block and I'd like to add a BUIS since there's already a front. Thing is I'm running a Millet DMS in a GG&G AC-30 mount and the stock YHM Rear BUIS is to tall to fit under the eye piece. I guess I should measure how much space I do have. I looked up the YHM sight and it says it's  .840 folded

I want to know what the folded height of the popular BUIS are and if any are elevation adjustable as well. I know you can adjust the front, but it'd be nice to have it on the rear where it's faster IMO. Maybe I'm asking too much from a BUIS.

I also have a Millet DMS-1 and I'm using the Midwest Industries SPLP (.4375 folded)

Would the Matech work?

Knights Armament 300m micro is the lowest I know of at .315 high from the rail. Most people run Troy which is .46. The Matech is .75 high I believe, but it changes depending on the range setting.

KAC 300m Micro

If you want adjustable range I think your best bet is the KAC 600m. Its .47 high and has elevation adjustment from 200-600m. There's also a micro version that's even smaller.

Thanks for the options. That KAC 300 is downright tiny. I'd love to get a KAC 600 but I'm already choking on the idea of spending $100 on a sight that most likely won't get used. I have a Matech but it's too tall also. I was really hoping it'd fit and having it be too tall was really what inspired this post. Anything else out there that's also elevation adjustable?

Found this on another site, thought I'd add if anyone else is interested

ARMS 40 - 0.95" folded (mine is 1.00" even)
YHM-9680 - 0.84" folded (mine is 0.85")
Matech - 0.75" folded
MI ERS - 0.75" folded
GG&G MAD - 0.625" folded
ARMS 40L - 0.61" folded
Troy - 0.460" folded
MI MCTAR-SPLP - .438" folded
YHM QDS - 0.435" folded
KAC 300m - 0.315" folded

This is just my personal opinion and some members here, elevation adjustments on back up sights are not really needed.

Since it is only a backup sight would you use it out to 300 to 600 m, most shootings during war time are under 300 m, and at that range you could just slightly aim higher if you're zero is at 200 m, if you zero at 300 m no need for any adjustment.

I'm not sure what is the exact height of my Magpul MBUS but it's approx. 0.650" fold ed and they're not expensive, here are other BUIS without elevation adjustment.

GG&G MAD -  0.625"
ARMS 40L -  0.610"
Troy -  0.460"
MI SPLP -  0.4375" (0.438")
YHM QDS - 0.435"
KAC 300m -  0.315"

ETA: Oops, you beat me to it, those measurements originated from here at ARFCOM from member maxicon, the KAC 300m measurement was my contribution to his list.

Kac micros are the ones you want if you want the thinnest profile.....if you get the front micro to go with the rear 300m micro, you can adjust elevation with front sight very fast since it has the dial on it.

Alpha-Romeo3 - Hmm you make a good point about not really needing adjustability... I'd just be for range/practice/casual shooting anyway... guess I just like being able to adjust things.

Glad to know where the list came from. I found it somewhere else and apparently it came from here :p good stuff

I have a MBUS on another rifle, maybe I'll swap the mount over and check if it fits, thanks for the idea.

TRIDENT1982 - that's a great looking rifle you've got there. Is that an AD scope mount? I didn't konw they made one with only one QD mount, I've got one but it has two QD levers.
