Does anyone know if the standard mount holds its zero?  I put witness marks on the thumb screws and on the upper but haven't taken it off yet to check. I don't plan on removing it often, just to clean the rifle.   Thanks

Edit. I have a TA31 if it matters

My TA51 would return close but not exact...usually around 1 moa off one way or the other.

In their operator manuals, I believe Trijicon says their optics will return to zero if the thumbscrews are torqued to the same spot.

I don't know, but I would guess that in order to achieve best results, you should torque the thumbscrews in the same way each time (i.e. hand tight rear, hand tight front, then a quarter turn more rear and a quarter turn more front). I'm sure there are more people with good knowledge of the TA51 mount around though.

I have never Shot moa groups with any of my acog equipped rifles, But as far as I can tell poi doesnt change, I have taken the scope off cause people want to look through it and I don't feel like unclipping the sling.......
Once it is reattached I would not hesitate to take a critical shot on a target, it is very repeatable......I am 100% confident in it.....

I did not have good luck with the factory mount retaining zero.

My Larue QD on the other hand has excellent repeatability.

this.

for Army/Marines will work just fine that way...but as a civilian that's why I've replaced it with something better (ADM B3 mount)

1moa give or take sounds about right for the factory mount.  Do yourself a favor and buy the LaRue mount - it is the best system going.
