I have been looking for a used Aimpoint micro R-1 for a while to go on my stainless Ruger MkII.  Most of the prices for new ones on ebay and gunbroker are around $580 which is more than I can justify for .22LR plinking.  However, I have seen one ad on gunbroker and a couple on ebay that list new R-1's for around $420 shipped.  The sellers have great feedback, so I am wondering if these are clones, and if not, how can they sell them this cheaply?

Thanks,
Justin

Here, I have solved your problem..

As an added bonus, they are under $400 and they have a ton of them in stock.

dude, for a Ruger MkII there's no point in spending that kind of cash.  One of these would be more than adequate::

On sale for $90, super good deal:  Bushnell Trophy TRS-25

Or this:  PA micro dot

Plum Run Sporting Goods looks like they have some great prices, but does anyone have any experience with them? I've never heard of them before today.

Good question.  I'd like to know also.  Their prices are good, but in-line with many other companies for most of their stuff.

The H-1 is what I would call "normal" price.  The R-1 is a screaming deal, probably because no one except for pistol gunners are jumping at the R-1 in silver, and any handgunner is going with the more open designs like the doctor.

So, you can save $150 by going with the red-headed (or silver-headed) step-child of the Aimpoint Micro family!  I could care less if it matched for that savings.

Buy the R1 and paint it flat black...

Plum Run is linked to Manventure Outpost.  If you look at both sites, you will notice that their quantities that are "in stock"  are the same.

Other places like opticsplanet have a few different website names as well.

I bought a T1 from Palmetto State Armory.  It was the cheapest I could find at the time.  I also picked up 10 AR5.7 mags for 9.99 a piece at that time.

Fast service and good prices.

Nice!  What are the difference between the R1 & H1 ????

ETA: just looked at the Aimpoint site.  Looks like color is the only difference.  Krylon here I come!

Just to clarify...I'm the owner of PlumRunSportingGoods.com, and we are not affiliated with manventureoutpost in any way, except that we both buy from the same supplier.

In deference to the Conduct Code, I'll limit my comment to this clarification.

We have never stocked the H-1. We could if there is enough demand but check out our T-1 and H-1 prices.

T-1 is black, and has night vision settings

R-1 is silver no NV settings.

Direct quote from the official Aimpoint website:

"The only difference between Micro R-1 and Micro H-1 is the color. The Micro T-1 is NVD compatible and carries other environmental specifications than the Micro H-1 and Micro R-1"

The Aimpoint Micro's are great. FYI Another option is always a Vortex SPARC.

I received my two R-1's today.  My experience with Plum Run was completely pleasant.  I ordered one online last Saturday, and then realized that my Dad's Birthday was coming up.  I called Monday to double my order and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful person.  I received e-mail confirmation of the update within the hour and they shipped the same afternoon.  I couldn't be more satisfied.

Ordered the T-1 from Plum Run and received it in two days. Price was very good too.
