I just got a brand new TA31F from a local dealer the other day.  Question is:  It is a dual illumination scope, so the tritium should light the reticle in a no light environment right?  The fiber optic part glows bright in daylight, but I tried it it a dark room, and nothing.  Then I went into a completely black room with no light at all, and nothing.  Should'nt the tritium be lighting the reticle like they say it should.  There is nothing glowing in a dark environment.  Thanks in advance.

Did you give your eyes time to adjust to the dark.  It is not going to be super bright, sorta dull actually.

+1, hope you weren't expecting the brightness from a battery lit reticle

The reticle on a TA01 seems brighter, probably only because all of it is lit, not just the center.

Yeah.  I was in a totally dark room for like 4-5 minutes, and nothing.  It's black.   Nothing going on in the scope.

In the manual of my TA33, Trijicon specifies that the reticule will at first appear to be very faint. They recommend letting your eyes adjust to the darkness at least 2-3 minutes.

I think the tritium might be burned out.

Ok.  I just sat in a 98% dark room for 20 minutes.  I saw the chevron glowing.  You need to have PERFECT eye alignment with the chevron.  It took me a while to do it, but with practice I could bring the rifle up and see the glow every time.    Thanks for the help guys.

If that's the case, I give you $50 for it

It is just your eyes - give them time to bleach out.
