Happy Memorial Day all.
Have a question for you guys. Just built up a flat top AR, and I'm borrowing my sisters EOTech 557, but shes going to want it back here shortly. I just wanted to get your guy's opinion on iron sights. Still not sure whether I want to go with a flip-up sight, or maybe just a regular carry handle. What do you guys have? Pros/cons of each? Thanks all. |

ARMS 40L-P, flip rear sight, I like the fact that it has the notch for up to 600 meters (although I use a scope for such shots)..bringing second point up...a flat top is more versatile if you want to start adding techno toys (red dots/glass etc.)
Front sight is the standard A2 front pinned gas block to barrel assembly...however, I did go to AR15conversions.com and purchase a new front post...the mid size...ball on a post, its much finer than the standard post, easier to tighten the groups at the 25 &50 yr markers...I keep 10 shot Wolf within 1.5 inches easy....now a 100 yrds...I spread to 3-4 inches...thats hard to see with a naked eye. |

I think you'll get more responses about having a sister with an eotech, but I will keep this on track. Skip the carry handle. If you want an a2 sight, I have used a LMT fixed rear buis for about 5 years and been happy with it. LaRue is another option. If you think you will use a scope later I like the troy flip up. Obviously there are a million sights and I have only used few |
