I find 'em easier to "lock" onto. Kinda like the 65MOA "Ring of Death" in the EOTechs. Your eyes pick up the big ring quicker, and your brain knows that what you're looking for (dot, post) is right in the middle of that ring.
Hell, I don't know, but it works for me!
