Looking to put a scope on my AR15 flat top.

A buddy has a center point on a .17  and I was wondering if it work on my AR ...

Looking to spend under $100

Pros cons ??

Maybe something else would work better ???

Would like to have a back up rear sight too

I have a carry handle rear sight on it right now ...

The $70 ones at walmart are ok. They work, and will hold zero. Mine survived a Mosin Nagant and now rests on a AR.

If i were you i would atleast save up for the one i have. Its a higher end line by them Its $154 at Dick's online store, and you can find 15% off coupons.

Its 3-12x44mm, and its far better then any budget scop i have seen. The ones at walmart get cloudy at higher resolution, this one is amazing!

While i cannot get a good picture through it to save my life, i can see  the texture of the bricks on a house that is 350 yards away, yes its that clear.

INFO

Comes with a 2-3" sun shade, which helps, flip up caps.

Here is a picture i took through it, as you can see the camera only focused on a small point right below the "X axis" in the center

This is about 200 yards at 12x

I bought the 4x16x40 mm Center Point from Walmart for a BCM spr build until funds come about to get a better scope.  Seems to be a good scope for the money and has held zero.  Only have about 200 rounds through it.  Glass is pretty clear in lower magnification but does get cloudy in 14 to 16x range.  Eye relief is tricky at times when you have it at full power.  I have a Magpul buis and it will not fit underneath it with the rings they provide.  Maybe another buis will fit but I am not sure.  One big con about is overall size and weight.  Its a pretty big scope.  If I had to do it all over again I would buy it again.  It at least got me out to the range and I can move it once I get a better optic to another gun.  Hope this helps.  If you need pics I can maybe get some up in a few days.

I've never seen a sub $ 100 scope that wasn't junk from china. Usually they won't track, won't hold zero and/or won't keep moisture out. I owned a bunch of cheap scopes, all in the garbage dump now. The lowest priced scope I've had luck with are the Bushnell 3200 scopes.
