I couldn't find a Optics section and this seems to be the closet thing.
So how do these two compare? |

Try the AR-15 section, they have an optics subsection there. But of the two, I dont think Vortex will hold a candle to the Leupolds. ETA: Optics Section ETA(again) Great avatar. |

I can't fathom that anyone who's actually used a Vortex product would out of hand choose Leupold. I won't buy a Leupold scope. Not that impressed with them. I own two Vortex products and I'll buy more in the future. I have two of the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scopes. One is each reticle offered. They are great optics. I am sure Leupold makes a scope that is slightly better, but you will have to spend about 3 times the $$ on that upper tier Leupold than I did on my Vortex scopes. |

I have a leupold mark 2 and just bought a vortex viper. I can say hands down, the vortex wins and the leupold was $250 more. |
| I bought a Vortex Viper 4-12x40. I scope has clear glass and looks like it is built well. One thing that helped me decide was I really liked the Vortex VIP warranty. For me it was between the Viper or the Mark AR. I am happy with my choice and this will not be my last Vortex product. |
