| Dumb question but does a killflash off a ML3 fit a M4? |
|
If you have never looked through an Aimpoint with a killflash, definitely do so before buying one. It is nothing like the killflash optical picture you see when looking through a magnified scope with a killflash.
On a 1X optic, you see all the black honeycomb that takes away from the clarity and brightness of your optic. I have two CompM4s and they came with the killflash. After a few days, I took them off, as they really rob the optic of brightness and clarity. I had killflashes on a number of high powered Leupold scopes before, and they are awesome because the magnification allows you to see through the honeycomb holes at the end of the killflash. But they are very visible when shooting a red dot optic. If you "need" a killflash to hide scope glint, then use it. If you think it just looks cool, you may want to reconsider. Definitely look through an aimpoint with killflash first before you buy. |

It was probably my eyes, but you'll want to check one out first. |

They're usually a dirt collector that makes it a real PITA to clean the glass. Depending on the design, you are going to loose 10 - 30 percent of light collected by the front lens. I don't mind it so much with the Aimpoint on, but it renders, at least for me, the co-witnessed irons damned near useless. |
