LT SPR mount or LT SPR-E?  Most of the TR24 models I've seen use the standard Larue mount, but have the scope pushed as far forward as possible.  Why not go with the SPR-E?  When I had one (borrowed it for testing) I used 30mm rings.  I'm looking to add one to the inventory and own a spare SPR-E mount.  Just curious to make sure I'm not missing some glaring and obvious reason not to use the extended mount.

Thanks in advance.

Depends entirely on your shoot style.

I shoot 100% squared up, as taught by the Magpul guys when I took carbine 1.  If this is how you shoot, with my ACS 1 click out or a CTR 2 clicks out, my cheekweld is PERFECT for my TR24 almost perfectly centered between the rings in an LT104 mounted as far up on the receiver as you can go.

If you shoot bladed, or with your nose digging into the charging handle, you're likely to need to scoot the TR24 a little farther up in the rings.

If you shoot NTCH, get the shortest mount possible that will work with your optic.  IE, if the LT104 is perfect for you with the scope all the way forward, get that instead of the E model.  Reason being, there is a possibility you will modify your shooting style and move your head back.  It ain't possible to move any farther forward with your nose up against that charging handle, and it will be easier to move the scope back toward a more centered position between the rings if you need to.   If you get the E model and center it...great.  If you ever have to move it back, its gonna be a lot tougher.

I shoot NTCH (or very close to it) and use the SPR-E:

The eye relief on the TR24 is not as long as the eye relief on the TR21.  I shoot with my nose about 1" -  2" behind the charging handle:

and have found that the standard SPR mount works well for the TR24:

Hope this helps

With a RDS I have got to be "just" touching the CH with my nose.
With a magnified optic, even the Aimpoint 3X, I have to be "just" off the CH, a few mm is enough, although often it's more than that.
This is with the adjustable carbine stocks, such as the SOPMOD, UBR, or ACS, usually set pretty short.
Everybody is different, and the above is just me, but it is what works for me.

Now sustitute a fixed stock,  say the PRS, and the increased LOP means I will be quite a bit more off the CH.

I shoot with my stock 1-click back and with my nose maybe an inch or two from the charging handle. The LT104 with the TR24 mounted all the way forward seems to be perfect for my type of shooting. I can move my cheek weld forward or back a little and still be within the eye relief of the scope.

The SPR-E mount will leave you with more fore and aft "room for adjustment."

I think i would go with the spr-e. Looks like it would be easer to move the scope back if needed. and the overall length of the package is the same.

It appears as if all the TR24's posted in this thread have the occular over the same point on the upper receiver.  I'll likely keep the SPR-E and see if it works.  I'll have a Troy BUIS below it.

My nose ends up between 0.5-1" behind the charging handle, depending on how fast I'm moving, how much time I have to set up.  If I'm bench shooting my nostrils are leaving condensation on the castle nut

I just recieved the TR24R and put into the SPR-E mount.  Perfect fit.  Plenty of room for adjustment and the turrets sit centered between the rings.  I'll get a pic up soon.

Helluva scope for <300 yard shooting.  Incredible actually.  Molon is right....again.

Plenty of before and after real estate on the receiver.  I shoot NTCH and find the SPR-E to work just fine.  In the end, either mount will work for the TR24.

Fantastic setup, look s really really good. That's what "professional's" rifle should look like.

Thanks, here's how it spends most of it's time.  Not using the suppressor and bipod saves me some extra scrubbin' and about 2lbs off the overall weight.  Heading to the range this afternoon actually.  Had the Accupoint on my 14.5" the other day.  It'll stay on the 16" though.  The 14.5" wears a T-1.

Very nice! How are you liking that UBR?

I took my rifle (pictured in my other reply) to the range earlier today after having the fsb removed & installing a YHM 2pc gas block/ flip up front sight. After zeroing my irons I pulled out the TR24G and boy was that a piece of cake to zero! I zeroed at 50yds, both eyes open shooting. The triangle & post seem to be just as or even easier for me to use compared to the EOTech XPS I used to have.

One thing I did notice was that the forward locking lever of the Larue mount began to back off just slightly after a few shots. Is this normal? My local range only allows 1rd in a mag so there was no rapid fire going on. It didn't back off all the way, but definitely was noticeable that the lever was not fully locked in.

The UBR is a great add to any carbine.  Being a "heavier" stock it does a great job of balancing the gun.  Try tighten that Larue hex nut a bit.  Those shouldn't back off at all.  It's likely that was never tightened to begin with.  Don't overtighten it though.  Just enough so the mount can come on/off as needed.
