| Any current reviews? Im pondering trying one and at worse giving it to my son to use on his 10/22. I cant think its much of a scope being 150 bucks, with a mount, flipups and a magnifier. Seems like too good to be true. |
| 2 words, its awesome, ive had mine for a year and a half, with no probs, i run it on my stag carbine, accuracy and durability is amazing ive beat mine to hell and its still kickin, and hey if i break it vortex will fix it or give me a new one, FREE no questions asked, i would luv to have an aimpoint but i just cant afford the $450 right now, let me know if u have any questions about it |
| Here is a little review I found http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/Vortex-Strikefire-Initial-t50354.html |

I just picked up a StrikeFire recently. It's not a bad optic. It's not a super high-end optic. Great for plinking. Awesome warranty. I should be taking it out next week to try it out. I live at a high altitude and the sun gets pretty bright. I'll let you know how it goes. |

We have the orig. and the new (just released) Brighter red dot Strikfire in stock.

| Got one for my son's AR middle of last month. Both of us are very happy with it. The little doubler is actually a fun addition that you get for free. I wish it mounted inside the lens cap though. It is a bit aggravating to have to take the lens cap off to screw it in. I suppose if it were mounted in a different way than screwing it in it would be less time consuming even taking the lens cap off. But what can you pay 150.00 for that nice of an optic. Everyone that's looked at it likes it a lot, even a couple of friends that were issued aimpoints overseas. One friend that was in the 2/504th 82nd loves it. He's the one that said as long as he doesn't go to the sandbox with it it should hold up fine, even for home defense, or a limited shtf scenario. As long as you're not going to war with it, it will be a great buy. |

Marsh1:
The new single color and new production dual color has the more recessed power button.
So there IS a red/green that has been updated with brighter dot and the recessed buttons? I was under the impression that only the red had been upgraded. Or is it both upgraded as far as recessed buttons, but only the red dot is brighter? I would LOVE to order an upgraded red/green! Thanks! |

Thanks! The red/green dot is still the same intensity, but the newest red/green models do have the recessed button. The red only model has a new LED that is brighter, but as efficient as the red/green LED. -Sam |

Thanks for the quick response! Just can't make up my mind lol. I've never used a red dot sight, but it will be going on my LMT MRP. Sounds like I probably can't go wrong either way. I'd just hate to lose the versatility of the red/green if they are "bright enough" for ME.
Thanks again! |

Seems like if the new red only sight has brighter LED, but is still as bright as red/green model...why not just get the dual model and have options? or am i not understanding something? The red only is brighter than the red/ green. We never had a issue with the red/green washing out but it does make it a little easier to pick up the dot, in full sun against a bright background. . |

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain it very well. The new red only LED is more efficient in its power usage as well as brighter than the red/green LED. That allowed us to increase the output on the red only so that it has a significant increase in brightness, while maintaining the same battery life as the red/green LED. Hope that makes better sense. -Sam |

First time I was like shit batteries are dead. New ones in and same thing. I like it thought sits on my 22 upper. I have a primary arms t-1 clone on a bushmaster that is also top notch but doesnt wash out. |

I bought one for a .22 and liked it so much that I decided to buy another for the 9mm carbine. For the money they are a real bargain and can't be beat. Only problem I had was bumping the on/off switch and turning the unit on without knowing. Mentioned this in the forum on a differnt thread and someone replied to rotate the scope 90 degrees so the on/off is at the bottom when mounted on the rifle. So rotated the scope, made some re-adjustments and now can't be happier...It is a simple fix for a great product.. |
| I have no problem with my red/green dot washing out, even on a bright day. I had some problems with my first strikefire and found out it was made during the same time that they had some electronic problems so Vortex replaced the sight with a new one. New one has been flawless, right now it sits on my dedicated .22 and I'm planing on getting another for my .223. I also mounted my sight 90 degrees to get the power button on the bottom and it works great this way. |

Quoted: Bought one yesterday from Primary Arms> was gonna pull the trigger on a Aimpoint but from everything i have read this sounds good and will save a ton of money.. Ive held out making a report on mine, I think its having trouble staying on zero. It could be me or my rear BUIS having an issue. Im hoping to go back out this weekend but damn I hate throwing away ammo. |

I would like to know how well the zero holds up on this sight, I am seriously considering buying one of the new versions with the recessed power button. |

| the strikefire will hold zero just fine i recently run 500 rounds through my 458 socom just to see if I could shake the sight loose and no problems at all and no I didnt do it all in one range visit. the load was hornady 325 grn stx sitting over 36 grains of reloader7 lit off with a cci 300 primer. |

I have used it on a 12 guage shotgun turkey hunting and on a dedicated 22lr upper hunting squirrels . i was testing it on my socom with the intent of trying to find some of the feral hogs that have invaded missouri. |

Im not saying they wont I just think mine might be faulty. I didnt get around to shooting it again. Had the kids all shooting and we spent most of the day with pistols. I will say though Primary Arms is now in my favorites list for ordering stuff. Awesome service on their end. |

Well got my optic in the mail today and I gotta say at first i was upset when I checked it out.. I ordered the "Bright red" and they sent me the red/green one. I talked with my father about it and he told me they did the same to his buddy but that its not a big deal. I gave the company Vortex works with to send the products out a call and spoke with someone there and made them aware that they not only sent me the wrong one but also my dads buddy, so how many more wrong orders have they shipped?? I let him know it wasn't a big deal but just wanted to make them aware for their inventory purposes. So I kept playing with it (and I made sure it was one of the newer generations with a more recessed button and it is which was really my main concern) and the green dot kinda grew on me. I feel the green dot is brighter than the red at its highest setting but I've only tested it indoors. Once i have everything mounted up i will post pics. Going to be a while before I can go to the range and zero it in.. |
