| I just finished my first rifle and I'm looking into my optics choices. I am shooting off a 16 inch Daniel Defense upper and would like to plink, shoot some varmints and use for self defense in the home. I was looking at Eotechs and Aimpoints. With a red dot is it possible to shoot 200-300 yards without a magnifier? On the Aimpoints is there going to be much difference between a 4moa and 2 moa? Option 2 was I was looking at some ACOGS. With the ACOG though wouldn't I lose functionality for short range targets? For the short distances I would be shooting does magnification make much difference? My third option was a Primary Arms red dot and switching between a Cabelas tactical scope when I was shooting varmints etc. I would love to hear all the opinions out there. I not opposed to saving for ACOG etc if that is the best option. Thanks so much for your help. |
