Are the Matech buis a good product , as I do not see anyone discuss them?
Thanks in advance

The mounting system was suspect but the rest of the sight is said to be very good. I believe mstn has a solution for the mount.

The matech buis is a good sight.  You don't see people talk about it on here because it isn't a COOL name brand product.  I have one and have no problems with the mounting system.  I am on my PD's SWAT team and use the matech on my duty rifle.

i have one also, seems to be user friendly. when the snow burns off i'm anxious to try it out. i have read that the clamping screw is easy to strip out,so be careful w/it. i've also read where there is an upgrade clamp/screw that is beefier.

Been issued them in the Army and though they are not a bad sight I do not like them and prefer the troy BUIS or KAC.  Main reason why I have come to dislike them is due to their design.  More often than not the pin that holds the retainer for the sight to remain down comes loose, which causes the sight to flip up when not wanted or needed.  Some may not have a problem with this but if I have to constantly fix something that I shouldn't have to then I don't want it.  It is a easy fix, just hold the sight down and pop the pin in, but it is one that I should not have to do in the first place.  This has happened to me with over three different Matech BUIS's, each will hold up for a while but sooner or later it will happen and does not take long.  I have seen this happen with other Matech BUIS's as well on other weapons.

I have one on both my service M4 and on my personal DDM4 and I personally like the sight. I haven't had a problem with it on either of the rifles.

I have a few and they have not given me any problems. They are not tacticool today nor as expensive as some other brands that seem to be in now with the kids but they work for me and they work well. I would buy another in a heartbeat....<><....:)

A quick fix to that is most of the time it is just the pin has worked itself loose and popped out, look at the sight and you will notice it.  While pushing the sight down and working it up and down (may have to be done), take a knife blade/screw driver head/anything thin enough to get in the space between the sight and the wing and pop it back into place.  It will fix it but only until it pops out of place again and it will happen again sooner or later.

I have one on my duty weapon...but I dont really care for it. First thing is the sighting hole is to big. Second thing is Ive had the pins come out and the sight pops up by itself. With that being said its not been a bad enough for me to switch ( it was free). I also use a comp M2 red dot so I dont use it that much. if I had to buy one it wouldnt be this one

I think it's good, although the peep hole is big however it's a buis

It's probably the by far the best bang for the buck, because they are inexpensive due to there being so many

People in Afghanistan had them on, and I only saw one or two in which the pin broke, and people definitely did not take care of their weapons like I did..... Mine hardly looked like it went on deployment, some were F'ed the hell up

We were issued these 4 years ago. 3 broke in a company the 1st day, 1 on my team at the mount. I promptly turned them all back in. Most guys I work with prefer the GGG A2 model- the one you manually lift up that locks in the UP position. Also the MWI similar type is very popular, and we have had no problems with these either. Some of the guys got the magpul plastic ones, they seem to like them but do not have anything concrete on it as far as long-term use downrange.
