| I am going to be putting a scope on my AR to do some varmint/predator hunting. I am probably going to put 2-12 ish scope on. I really like the single piece scope mount, but I cant seem to find to many of them. I found the Burris REPR and really like the way it looks. So I have a few questions, is it a good unit, and will the front iron site be in the way? It is going on a 16" flat top bushmaster. Also, can will i be able to take it on and off without re-sighting it in? |

If you happen to carry a torque wrench with you, that would help, but... |

If you want to be able to remove the optic, swap optics, or just be able to replace it without losing zero then go with a known and proven mount. The LaRue mounts are 'return to zero'.
I show some pics of removing and replacing my ACOG after sighting it in on this page. Many mounts will, like stated above, keep you in the balpark, but you will lose zero. |
| Leupold QRW rings are real close to return to 0. They run about 60 bucks for a set, all steel and look good. On the rifles I have them on the return to 0 is less then 3/4 ", now it might be 1/2" low and 1/4" to the left one time and then the next 1/4" high and 1/2" to the right. But all in all close enough that with an accurate rifle, 400 yds and in will not make a difference if you had to remove the optic and no time to confirm 0. Truthfully I rarely remove optics from a weapon unless I think there is a problem and want to try a different scope, and that has only happened once in 15 years and countless rifle set-ups. I have no use for a Larue, great product with excellent MIL. service, I just don't require they're features or price. I typically don't swap out optics like it is my job, no need for NV one minute then mag the next moment behind my RDS |

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand why the PEPR won't return to zero after it's removed?
I've got the PEPR but haven't had a chance to sight it in yet. I want the capability to install the scope for coyotes or hogs and then return the Aimpoint for other uses. I'm hoping the PEPR will allow this without a loss of zero. If the PEPR won't allow this I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy the Larue 104 |

In theory, it should return to zero or close to it if the nuts are torqued the same way every time. My Armalite mount returns to zero when taken on and off. This one should too. The scope on my next build won't be taken off much. so the Burris mount is good for my application. The Burris billboard has to go. A strategic application of barbecue paint should remedy this situation. |
