| so i just recently completed my first AR and i have been looking at red dot sights. i really like both of these but i cant figure out which one i should buy. I really dont want to pay the extra money for the ML3 if its not worth it. so far the only real advantage i can see to the ML3 is the battery life and the submersion depth(which doesnt matter to me really). any help and input is appreciated. thanks in advance |
| Your research seems to have given you all of the answers that you need. The only thing you're missing is that the ML2 comes with a 4 MOA dot while the ML3 has a 2 MOA dot. So, it's really up to you whether the extra cost is worth the smaller dot and extra battery life. For me, it wasn't (batteries are cheap, and I don't need the small dot). YMMV. |

If you do end up with the ML2 and wish to have a smaller dot, simply turn the intensity of red dot down. Instead of using it on level 6 or 7, give 4 or 5 a try... That only works if it is dark enough or if the target is dark, otherwise the dot washes out. The other way around works fine; you can make a 2moa dot appear larger by turning up the brightness. Also if you plan on using a magnifier you may want to consider the 2moa ML3. |
