so i just recently completed my first AR and i have been looking at red dot sights. i really like both of these but i cant figure out which one i should buy.  I really dont want to pay the extra money for the ML3 if its not worth it. so far the only real advantage i can see to the ML3 is the battery life and the submersion depth(which doesnt matter to me really). any help and input is appreciated.  thanks in advance

Your research seems to have given you all of the answers that you need. The only thing you're missing is that the ML2 comes with a 4 MOA dot while the ML3 has a 2 MOA dot. So, it's really up to you whether the extra cost is worth the smaller dot and extra battery life. For me, it wasn't (batteries are cheap, and I don't need the small dot). YMMV.

If you do end up with the ML2 and wish to have a smaller dot, simply turn the intensity of red dot down. Instead of using it on level 6 or 7, give 4 or 5 a try...

That only works if it is dark enough or if the target is dark, otherwise the dot washes out.

The other way around works fine; you can make a 2moa dot appear larger by turning up the brightness. Also if you plan on using a magnifier you may want to consider the 2moa ML3.

2 MOA is more than worth the difference in price.  Get the ML3.

I have both
The battery life is the biggest difference I can see.
Im happy with both. If batteries are not a problem you will probably be served well with either.
