My AR is setup with the A2 front sight and a A2 removable handle sight. Do you guys mount your scope on the handle or the flattop receiver?

If mounting on handle what type of mount do you use/recomend?

I have my old but almost new Simmons 3x9x32 scope on a mount that mounts in the grouve of the handle was told those are terrible mounts. So any help or suggestion would be appreciated. Most of my shooting will be with the iron sights but once in a while I would like to use a scope and my max shooting distance would probably be 300yds. No woodchucks to shoot down here

With my old AR-15 HBAR set up, I used a rubber armored Tasco 3x9 scope that has an integral rail on it. It was not high enough to clear the front hand guard, so I used an ARMS mount for the carry handle. I had to add a cheek piece to the stock for the increase in height. This actually worked pretty well as it got the scope above the line of the front sight:

I ended up removing the carry handle and adding a couple of YHM scope riser blocks so now it look like this:

It is more comfortable to shoot in this configuration, but I do see a "Ghost" image of the front sight sometimes. My plan is to remove the front sight assembly, install a YHM railed gasblock and BUIS........

Thanks 214. I was wondering if you mounted on flattop how bad the front sight would affect the view. Nice AR.
